Dora was born September 19, 1924 to Adolph and Mabel Nelson in Clarkfield, MN. Dora graduated from Clarkfield High School. Dora and Swede (Carl) Hanson were united in marriage on June 29, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in Kewanee, IL and later moved to Hopkins, MN. Dora was a bookeeper for her husband at Swede's Body Shop in Hopkins. Dora and Swede retired at their home they built on Lake Inguadona. Dora worked at the Cottage Café and Ridgewood Golf Course in Longville.
Dora loved to cook and bake. She was famous for her brownies, kringles and baking goodies for her church. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, fishing and loved socializing with people. Playing cards and helping at the church daycare brought her lots of pleasure.
Preceeded in death by her parents; her husband; Carl "Swede" Hanson; three brothers, Merald (Bud), Lloyd, and Donald Nelson; two sisters, Abigail Wood and twin sister Diana Hanson.
Dora is survived by her daughters; Elizabeth Moeller, Evelyn (Howard) Sabourin, Sue (Shawn) Normandin, Shirley (Jeff) Perkins; her sons Carl (Duff) (Michele) Hanson and Brad (Terri) Hanson; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Dora's life will be held in the Spring 2020 and an additional obituary will be published at a later date with the date, time, and place of the service.
