Donald Sherman Hall
He was born in 1931 to Edwin and Hazel Hall in St. Cloud, MN. After graduating from Mound High School, Don joined the U.S. Army, which he served in for 27 years, and while serving he attended night-school and achieved his Associates Degree in Santa Ana, CA. He was united in marriage to Darlene "Babe" Wedl on November 7, 1953 in Bovey, MN. After he retired from the Army in 1976 he bought a hobby farm in Remer, MN where he and his family raised horses and enjoyed fishing around the area. Don was a life member of Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). He loved model railroad trains, airplanes and for the last 6 years he was an avid cribbage player.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Lorraine, and brother-in-law.
Donald is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Darlene "Babe" of Remer, MN; son, Michael (Maribel) Hall of Crestview, FL; daughters, Patty (Gregg) Hanson of Sabastian, FL and Mary Jo (Dale) Roberts of Burr Ridge, IL; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Remer, MN. Fr. Keith Bertram will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Kylar Glen Hospice House.
Arrangements are with Rowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Grand Rapids, MN.
