He was born in Grand Rapids, MN to James and Pearl Eide. He grew up in Ironton from 5th grade until graduation from Crosby Ironton High School.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, served mostly in Germany during the Berlin Airlift.
He married Idelle M. Sweet on June 7th, 1958 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Lived in Twin Cities until retirement, 2006, to the place he loved so much, the cabin on Mule Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Idelle; two sons, Gregg (Tori) of Savage and Kirk (Linda) of Bloomington; grandchildren Isaac, Braydon, Alexia, Wyatt, Mariah, Payton, Landon and Colton; one brother, James, of Longville and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents and his sister Darleen.
Funeral services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, with military honors on Oct. 22, noon.
