Age 79, of Edina and Woman Lake, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2011. Jesus has joyfully reunited Dennis in Heaven with his wife of 55 years, Joan (Bleich) Wuebker, daughter, Margaret (Wuebker) Mann, his parents, siblings and close friends. Dennis was born October 14, 1931 and raised in Jefferson, IA, where he was a star athlete and graduated at the top of his class. He worked his way through Drake University as a scholar-athlete, an Air Force ROTC cadet, a Supervalu employee and a member of the singing group, Harmony Huddle. His major achievements include introducing the superstore concept to the U.S. and developing the Cub franchise. Dennis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed activities with his family, whether it was coaching his daughters' sports teams, sharing scouting and hobbies with his son, or traveling with his children and grandchildren. Dennis was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and taking care of the nesting loons and other wildlife who shared the family retreat on Woman Lake. With his wife, Dennis spearheaded the effort to save a sensitive wildlife habitat on Woman Lake from development. Dennis's favorite memories involved travel with Joan, whether it was retailer trip, a cross-country family vacation, or an adventure among the Italian ruins with close friends.
