Dennis was born on September 29, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN to Donald and Peggy (Kendrick) Weaver. As a teen, he moved with his family to Longville, MN. Shortly after graduation, Dennis enlisted in the United States Army and worked as an aircraft mechanic in Germany. After his honorable discharge on July 7, 1967 he returned to Longville. He was married to Dorothy Laabs in 1970 and they were blessed with two sons: Todd and Brent. He worked for Hawkinson Construction for many years.
Dennis was a man of many interests. He loved to fish on local lakes in the summer and could be found in the woods each fall hunting for deer. He was known for his homemade sausages and smoked fish that he shared with family and friends. Dennis and Dorothy loved to travel the United States in their RV and went on several cruises. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Longville and the Hackensack American Legion Post #202. Above all, Dennis enjoyed spending time with his wife and sons.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy, his sons: Todd and Brent; his brother, Alan Weaver; as well as other relatives and friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Buck and Wayne.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville with Pastor Trisha Jorgenson officiating.
