ST. PAUL, Minn. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host a free youth fishing derby for kids age 14 and under at its Cross Lake Recreation Area in Crosslake, Minn., Aug. 13.

Participants must be at the main office by 8:30 a.m. to register. There will be educational programs at 9 a.m. followed by fishing at 10 a.m.

The children must be present for the duration of the educational programs and have an adult present to participate.

All fishing must be done from shore and within park boundaries. Participants need to bring their own bait, sunscreen and fishing pole. Local merchants will provide the prizes and soda pop.
