At no point in time, before, during or after our July 31 mediation, did the School Board give us any contract proposal. In fact, the first time we saw any proposal was when we read the Board's letter to the editor. We asked for the Board's proposal before the July 31st mediation and received nothing. At the mediation session we asked for their proposal at the beginning of the meeting and received nothing. After sitting in the library for nearly 2 hours, the mediator returned. We asked if the Board had a proposal for us to consider and the mediator told us "No, the Board has no proposal." At that point in time we informed the mediator that we would be leaving the meeting, as there was no proposal to discuss. We also asked the mediator to have the Board's attorney contact us, as soon as the Board had a proposal, so we could schedule another meeting.
Now we are asked to believe that the Board DID have a proposal. If that is true, then why didn't the Board present their proposal? We never would have left the meeting if the Board had a proposal to discuss!
We are willing to meet and discuss the Board's proposal at their earliest convenience. We continue to seek a fair contract and we ask for your support. Please contact the Northland School Board and ask them to work with us, their employees, to settle this contract.[[In-content Ad]]
