Eighty nine years and nine months ago, Coralee was born in a sheep shed, with no floor or any windows on December 8, 1929 in between twin lakes. In her childhood she walked to school with brothers and sisters on each side, with a family of sixteen - Mom being right in the middle, number eight of sixteen. Sometimes when the snow got deep, they would ride on a sled pulled by a horse. They would cover up with a horsehide to keep warm.

Mom met Dad, Leland Doms, in about 1945. They had four children: Joedy, Sheila (Jones), Janile (Zaffke) and Fred. They lived on a farm and had cattle, pigs, chickens and of course, horses (Dom's Riding Stable). Mom had a white horse she called Scootie. He was about the fastest in the stable.

Mom was a very good cook, frying up big cast iron pans of backstrap. She also worked as head cook at Forestview Resort for many years. At the age of 52, Mother decided she wanted to ride a motor bike. We rode in the rain and still talk about the fun we had! She was an excellent shot with a rifle, especially her old 25-35 Winchester 94.

She liked to fish. Patience was her virtue. She also was an oil paint artist. She loved to sew embroidery, just like her mother did. The finished piece looked the same on the back as it did on the front. She was always taking something that was broken or ruined and making it work again.

She built kitchen cupboards with one rip saw, one cross cut saw, a hand plane and a butcher knife.

Mom made quilts, woodburning items, birchbark crafts with beading and she liked to stack firewood.

Yes, our mother was not the average mother. We will truly miss her!

She had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Always giving/always sharing and always forgiving. Always looking for good in a person. "It's the end of this Chapter, but not the end of the Book"

"Among the best things we can give each other are good memories"

At this time the family has decided there will be no services held.[[In-content Ad]]
