Cass County senior providers planning County-Wide Celebration event
This year's theme is "Remember when..." and will feature an opportunity for the public to bring in favorite family treasures for the "Antiques Critique" by several local antique dealers for identification and evaluation. Several items will be selected to be highlighted for the group during the final program of the morning. Assigned appointment slots for the critiques will be assigned on a first-come basis in exchange for a small donation to support the Alzheimer's Association.[[In-content Ad]]
A gathering time for this free event will begin at 8 a.m., with scores of vendor booths set up throughout the church to share information on programs and opportunities in Cass County that impact seniors and their families. Light breakfast fare and coffee will be on hand for all to enjoy. Three educational seminars "Be Aware, Be Prepared, and Be Engaged" will be held throughout the morning, with time in-between to allow adequate time to visit booths and register for door prizes that will be given away during the final presentation of the morning.
"Be Aware" will provide information on the Preparing Minnesota for Alzheimer's 2020. It is imperative that citizens take action now to reduce the impact of Alzheimer's, eliminate the stigma and improve the care and quality of lives for those touched by the disease. "Be Prepared" will provide tips on getting your legal and financial house in order, with a presentation by a senior law specialist. "Be Engaged" will help uncover the hidden treasures within each of us, and ways we can share our time, talents and gifts with others in our community.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the event, with a special performance by the Bells of May Creek senior hand bell choir. Rumor has it a few old classic cars will be on hand to view also.
