Longville Ambulance Service reported the number of calls received dropped from 55 a year ago to 47 this year during the first quarter of the year.
Kevin Lee, Longville Ambulance Service, also informed the board calls increased in April, so were running the same in 2012 and 2013 through April.
Total ambulance service cost and expenses the first quarter were both down due to fewer runs through March, but the service was still making an 11 percent profits, which is slightly above the budget goal.
Paramedics were available every day in January through March this year, even though the service license requires only part-time advanced life support service, Lee said. Four people were transported by air in the first quarter.
