Cass County Mapping Services

Cass County's Interactive Web Mapping Service provides you with the ability to view, print and download county parcel information through a variety of tools and search options. This service is available to the public free of charge and also provides viewing access to additional information such as driveway and road information, plat and parcel dimensions, aerial photography (2010), section surveys, conservation easements, national wetlands inventory, 2-foot contours, soils, survey information and more.

Additionally, the web mapping provides links to searches and reports for property sales, permit history, parcel history, individual parcel reports, and tax statements.

Cass County's Timber Management Program also offers an online, interactive web mapping service that allows you to conveniently view auction tracts, available over-the-counter timber sales (referred to as section one sales), recently sold timber sales and permits, forest trails, cruise sheets, and much more all from the comfort of your office or home computer.

Many features and tools have been added to the Cass County website - be sure to check out how easy it is to get up-to-date information. For example, the "Atlas tool" now provides current platbooks. In addition to the Atlas module, township maps (an alternative to the traditional platbook) are also available and is new within the last year. Unlike a platbook these townships maps are updated multiple times throughout the year to keep them current.

A "Pictometry" image viewer provides an oblique view for a location. Oblique imagery is aerial photography that is taken at approximately a 45 degree angle with the ground. That angle allows viewers to see and measure not only the top of objects but the sides as well. Oblique imagery more closely resembles how people normally view their landscape compared to traditional orthagonal (straight down) imagery.

Jessica Watts, Cass GIS tech specialist, reports that a mobile mapping application with the same basic functions as the LINK map will be available in the near future. These and all of the mapping tools can be accessed at http://www.co.cass.mn.us/services/land/maps/ .
