WALKER - Cass County will host six household hazardous waste collection events around the county this summer.

The county also began collecting hazardous waste materials weekdays at the transfer site north of Pine River during normal business hours this year.

Hazardous materials include unwanted or unusable paints and paint products, adhesives, mercury products, corrosives, pesticides, oven cleaning products, old gasoline, automotive products (except no motor oil), electronics, fluorescent bulbs and batteries.

The special collection days around the county are the following:

• June 13-1-4 p.m. - County highway garage at Walker.

• June 22-Noon to 4 p.m. - East Gull Lake City Hall.

• July 19-11 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Slagle Transfer Station east of Longville.

• Aug. 10-10 a.m. to Noon - Remer Hardware Store.

• Aug. 10-1-3 p.m. - Crooked Lake Town Hall at Outing.

• Aug. 23-3-7 p.m. - County highway garage in May Township.
