Cass County geologic atlas presentation
Part A was recently published by the Minnesota Geological Survey. Part A of this survey includes the water-well database and scaled geological maps showing properties and distribution of the sediments and rock at the surface and subsurface. Part B, to be completed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, will include maps of water levels in aquifers, direction of groundwater flow, water chemistry and sensitivity to pollution. In addition to the presentation of the project by the Geological Survey, a representative of the MNDNR will illustrate the highlights of their upcoming work on groundwater hydrology.
You will be presented with a copy of the Part A maps showing the location and topography of geological features in Cass County at no charge. If you are unable to attend, you may contact our office for copies of the Part A mapping. Additionally, the Hubbard County Geologic Atlas will be presented by the Minnesota Geological Society March 6 at the Northwoods Bank in Park Rapids at 1:30 p.m.
