BACKUS - The Cass County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) will be having their annual meeting on Friday, October 25th. The public is invited to attend the event that will held at the Chase Hotel in Walker.

Key note speaker will be King Banaian, of St. Cloud State University. He is Director of the Research School of Public Affairs and professor in the Department of Economics. Banaian has consulted at the central banks of Ukraine, Egypt, Macedonia and Armenia. He is author of three books on the economy and more than forty articles discussing the political economy. He served one term in the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 15B. Banaian is also host of a weekly radio show and co-author of the St. Cloud Quarterly Business Report.

Banaian's talk is entitled "Economic Development in the New Normal." Other countries have reacted to the new economy in different ways. How we readjust will be significant to our economic recovery and this will be addressed in his talk.
