Carol was born August 27, 1944 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Anders and Helen Ulseth.
She graduated from Remer High School in 1962. After graduation, she worked as a Surgical Technician at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Carol then moved to Denver, Colorado; and was employed by the University of Colorado. Carol was employed with a research team that performed kidney and liver human transplants. She was part of Dr. Tom Starzl, M.D.'s federally funded research team; she scrubbed in on one of the first liver transplants in the United States. This team developed one of the first anti-rejection drug schemes (utilizing cyclosporine, etc.) in the U.S.
After retirement from the medical field, Carol moved back to Remer to retire in a home on the lake.
Carol is survived by her husband Gerald Anschutz, Remer; her sister, Nancy Stefan, Remer and her brother, Robert Ulseth, Cook, MN.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Shirley Schroeder and her brother, Jim Ulseth.
In lieu of flowers, etc., the family requests memorial tributes can be made to the charity of your choice in Carol's name.
Services are being handled by Affordable Cremation and Burial in Duluth, MN.
