Beverly Louise Egan, age 87, of Longville, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Beverly was born on November 8, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to Charles and Willamina (Schneider) LaBarre. After high school, Beverly worked as a telephone operator for four years before enlisting in the United States Navy on May 27, 1952. She worked as a cryptographer, encoding and deciphering messages, and also as a drill instructor. She was stationed around the world including London, Hawaii and San Diego, CA and was proud of her high security clearance. While stationed in Jacksonville, FL, she met and later married John Egan on April, 24, 1965. Beverly retired as a Radio Men First Class from the Navy on September 23, 1971 after nearly 20 years of service to her Country. Beverly and John moved to Longville, MN where they've made their home for nearly 40 years.

Beverly had many interests. She and John loved to fish off their dock on Lake Inguadona and enjoyed catching whatever happened to be biting that day. Bev was active in the community for many years and volunteered her time to several organizations. She was a member of the Hackensack American Legion Post #202. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hackensack for many years. She enjoyed company and looked forward to her nieces and nephews coming to the lake to visit who affectionately called her "Auntie Mame".

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John, her sister, Jeanne Horning of New Mexico; her brother, Bill LaBarre of Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Gerry and Linda; and her brother Danny.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hackensack with Father Francis Kabiru officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.[[In-content Ad]]
