Backus Pine Mountaineer Senior Center to reopen
To the Editor:
We cover all of our food and building expenses with our lunch fee and then donate to organizations in our local community.
In the past we have given to local food shelves, 4H and other youth organizations.
Don't forget, every Wednesday at 8:00 a.m., we open for fresh baked cinnamon and caramel rolls, coffee or milk for just a couple bucks!
Lunch hours are 10:45 to 12:30 or while supplies last. We also offer takeout service as well! For orders of four or more, we ask you call ahead 15 minutes so you don't have to wait when you arrive (218-947-3844) Our weekly Menu is posted on Facebook at Backus Senior Center.
Meal on the 31st will be: Meatloaf with potatoes and gravy, vegetable and roll. There's no age requirement for these meals-all are welcome!
The weekly lunch is priced at $7.50 and is a plate filled with large servings of a meat entree, potatoes and gravy, vegetable and bun. We also offer soup of the day and sandwich for those looking for something else. Don't forget the desserts! Cake and pies available after your meal also!
We look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces again and hearing what's been going on during this tough year! We're located in downtown Backus at 131 Front Street.
Volunteers are always needed, so if you are looking to waitress or help out in other areas for about two hours on a Wednesday, please give us a call (Sharon 218-507-0551).
All volunteers get a free lunch each week.
Also, with the opening of our building comes Terry's Barbershop!
Call Terry for your haircut appointment at 218-232-2938. We would like to acknowledge all those who have stuck with us this past year and all those who have donated to help keep us above water.[[In-content Ad]]
