Back to school at NCS
To the Editor,
Test scores and MMR information are just a snap shot of our school. We have a strong staff dedicated to our students, and students who have success as their goal. We continue to work towards our goal regaining the MN Department of Education's "Celebration School" status. We have a strong, supportive, enthusiastic school setting and we are working hard to continue our progress. We continue to offer a high level of College in the Schools coursework in the High School through our partnership with Central Lakes Community College, which has allowed us to help many students save money and get ahead academically. At our May 2015 commencement, three students in the class of 24 graduated with their Associate of Arts (AA) degree. This is a great accomplishment for our graduates which we are very proud of. We had many more students who received some college credits. We have added choir and drama back into the curriculum and extra-curricular settings, and are looking to expand opportunities for our students with trap shooting and competitive cheerleading teams as well as working towards getting back effective after school programming for our students. Sometimes it takes a couple years to plan fully to get new programs up and running but the process has started. We are committed to our students, and strive to give them the opportunities to be the most well rounded students we can possibly turn out on graduation night. We are proud of the many individual successes our graduates have achieved over the years. Northland graduates have gone on to become teachers, doctors, nurses, peace officers, lawyers, business owners, dedicated United States Military Service men and women, among many other occupations. We work hard to instill Eagle pride and a strong work ethic that can be carried with our students throughout their lives. We have made tremendous strides forward in education and continue with our dedication on this important journey. The School Board, administration, staff and students thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another exciting school year. We have plenty to be proud of in our past and we also realize the capabilities and possibilities of the students we raise in our communities for the future. I personally want to thank all of our volunteers and invite everyone who would like to come in to visit the school and see our students and staff in action.[[In-content Ad]]
