At least we can eat 'em

To the Editor,

The rusty crayfish of Woman Lake may be in bigger trouble than I thought: Some 200 folks gobbled up more than 200 pounds of rusty crayfish at the First Annual Minnesota Bound Crayfish Boil held July 6 at Patrick's. Even Raven, the black Lab, nabbed a few.

The Child, Girl and Woman Lake Association received the proceeds from those crayfish diners, gross revenue of nearly $2,000.

I deeply appreciate those in the community who helped make it happen: Patrick's Restaurant and staff for their assistance and food donations; Arrowhead Builders Supply (especially Kathy Dollins) who donated use of tables and chairs.

As we said, if we can't eradicate invasive species like the rusty crayfish, at least we can eat 'em.
