Antonio "Tony" Correia Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dorothy, Daughter Kathleen (Tom) Marnik, Son Bruce Correia, Grandchildren Michael (Bethany) Marnik, and Jennifer (Steven) Ringhofer, and the very proud Great-Grandfather to Grady and Lydia Marnik and Hailey, Kylie, and Amelia Ringhofer.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hortense and Antone Correia, and 5 siblings.
Tony grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts and was the proud son of Portuguese immigrants. He was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War and then joined the reserves. He was a member of the American Legion for 61 years. After returning home from the War he met the love of his life Dorothy "Dotty". Tony and Dotty raised their children in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Tony worked for the Acushnet Process Company making Titleist golf balls which he proudly shared with his Grandchildren anytime a golf ball was in sight.
Tony and Dotty followed their grandchildren to Nebraska and Tony "Papa" enjoyed watching the kids after school and during the summer. All the kids in the neighborhood knew him as Papa.
Tony and Dotty loved ballroom dancing and were very active in Massachusetts and Nebraska going to dances and making life-long friends. They enjoyed out-dancing even the youngest of couples at both their grandchildren's weddings.
In 2012 Tony and Dotty moved with their daughter Kathy and husband Tom, owners of Timber Trails Resort, to Remer, MN. Tony enjoyed interacting with guests and was in charge of hiding Mickey Mouse for kids to find and receive a prize.
Tony will be missed by family and friends, but he provided so many fond memories to be remembered by and he would want everyone to keep making memories with him watching from above.
In leu of a funeral a private celebration of life will be held by family.[[In-content Ad]]
