Angie Lynn Tofflemeyer, age 41, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst, NC.

She was born to Terry Oliver Mejdrich and Darlene Mary Amato in Grand Rapids, MN on November 17, 1975. She grew up on Windy Lake in Swatara, MN. She attended school in Remer, MN. She was class valedictorian for Northland High School's 1994 graduating class. After graduating high school, she attended Furman University on a 4-year Army ROTC Scholarship from 1994-1998. Angie graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC in 1998 with a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry and English. She received her commission as an Army 2nd Lieutenant in May of 1998.

She met her future husband, Troy Michael Tofflemeyer, while attending Army training at Fort Lewis, WA in May of 1997. They were married at Biggs Army Airfield on April 3rd, 1999. To this union were born three children, Rachael, Nicholas and David.

Angie served in the Army from 1998-2000 and the Colorado Army National Guard from 2000-2006, attaining the rank of Captain. She served as a Patriot Missile Battery fire control Platoon leader while stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. Her last assignment was at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado where she served as the Space Operations Company Commander for Army Space Command. She deployed overseas to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002. She also served overseas in Korea in support of Ulchi Focus Lens and Reception, Staging and Onward Inception. Angie was recognized by the Chief of Staff of the Army for her outstanding leadership as one of the Army's top company grade officers and was presented with the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award at a ceremony in the Pentagon in May of 2005.

Angie's Military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf, Joint Service Achievement Medals, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Mobilization Device, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Space Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, German Armed Forces Badge and the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award.

After resigning her commission from the Army in 2006, Angie pursued a career in education. She started out her education career as a middle school science and math teacher. She was recognized as the 2010-2011 teacher of the year for West Middle School in Montgomery County, NC. She decided in 2011 to transition to school administration. Her first position as a school administrator was as the Assistant Principal for West Middle School. She completed her Master's Degree in Education Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D. C. in May of 2013. She became the principal for Troy Elementary School in Troy, NC in August 2014 and continued in this position until her illness.

Angie is survived by her husband, Troy Michael Tofflemeyer; her daughter, Rachael Eleanor Tofflemeyer; sons, Nicholas David Tofflemeyer and David John Tofflemeyer IV of Mount Gilead, NC; her parents, Terry and Darlene Mejdrich of Swatara, MN; brother, Eric Mejdrich, his wife Angela, son Gaines and daughter Violet of Duluth, MN and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins that she loved dearly.

Angie will be remembered as a devout believer in Jesus and as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all those who knew her and the lives that she touched.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service at Northland Alliance Church, Remer, MN. Burial with full military honors will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Smokey Hollow Township, MN.
