Andrew was born on September 25, 1921 in Hollywood, MN to Gustav and Claire Arnold. It was in this same area that he attended school and helped on the family farm. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and proudly served his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge in 1945, Andrew returned to Minnesota and gained employment at National Tea Foods in Hopkins. He was united in marriage to Dolores Monroe on September 18, 1948 and they were blessed with a daughter, Linda. After his retirement in 1976, Andrew and Dolores moved to their home on IXL Lake near Hackensack to enjoy up north living.
He was a man of many interests including hunting and fishing. He loved the water and was an excellent water skier. Andrew also enjoyed evening boat cruises around the lake with family and friends. He was an avid bowler and played on a league in Hopkins for many years and also loved to dance and polka with Dolores. He was a member of the VFW in Longville and was the Head Usher at Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years. Above all, Andrew loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Linda (Clarke) Daniel; his granddaughter, Kristin Anderson; great-grandson, Cameron Moede; his sister, Lorraine Japs; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dolores; his granddaughter, Angela Daniel; and siblings: Gust, Alvin, Helen, Agnes, Ethel, Mabel, Irene, Lily, Dora and Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Walker. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
