Alda Marcella (Hare) Godfrey
b. Nov. 22, 1929 d. Sept. 12, 2014
Alda, along with her brother Don, graduated from Boy River High School in 1947.
On June 7, 1947 she married Gene Godfrey, they were blessed with 67 years together. They lived their whole married life on the Godfrey Homestead near Remer, MN. They worked side by side whether farming, logging or serving at the church.
Alda was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior at the Boy River Log Chapel. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, shopping and spending time with her family. Alda's zest for life reflected in her youthful participation in each of our lives. Her home was known as Grand Central Station, a place anyone could come at anytime and feel at home. She loved to cook, bake and can and share her goodies with everyone! She was known for her fabulous hot dill pickles!
Survived by her husband Gene Godfrey; 3 children: Duane Godfrey (Deb) of Longville, MN, Lou Ann Lords (Ron) of Belt, MT, Kendra Voss (Steve) of Hannibal, MO. 11 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Albert Hare, Donavon Hare, Larry Hare and many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by her mother (Iva Hare), father (Robert Hare), brothers: Harold Hare, Mervyn Hare; sister LaVaughn Harmon.
