Activity buses for the kids
To the Editor,
With the spread out community that we live in, transportation for extra-curricular activities is a neccessity. Keeping our children involved in after school activities has been proven to keep them academically focused.
The programs involved in our extra-curricular include sports for boys and girls 7-12, drama, drum and dance, pm power learners, math masters, tutoring, after school recovery, drivers training and more.
It is tough in today's economic climate for parents to arrange transportation for the different activities, so the end result, is the children simply don't get the opportunity to participate. We are hoping to run buses twice a week for the rest of the school year to help keep students involved and help out the parents. We are asking the community for your help with this! If anyone has the resources to donate any amount of money it would be greatly appreciated. We are reaching out to other organizations as well and hope to have enough to begin busing our kids by the beginning of the next activity season.
