A promise made is a promise kept, as Bob Jacobs shoots his age at 74
His score of 74, net 64, was good for both the low gross and low net scores of the day, an infrequent accomplishment, that led his team to a first place tie in the First Flight team competition. Playing with Jacobs were Bill DeLost, net 76, Paul Dennie, 73, and Wally Wallman, 73. The team score of 16-under par, 200, tied them with the team of Wayne Seiffert, 73, Bruce Black, 73, Larry Kampa, 70, and Bill Frank, 69, and the team of Craig Anderson 73, Jerry Varner, 76, Bob Seemann, 72, and Dale Hillstrom, 73.
Second Flight winners at 15-under-par, 201, were Ed Hammersten, 67, Bob Muller, 76, Terry Paul,85, and Mark Houghton, 67.
Third Flight winners at 19-under -par, 197, were Bill Brown, 74, Marlowe Kottke, 74, Rod Bothast, 68, and Chuck Hinson, 73.
Fourth Flight winners at 13-under-par, 203, were Harold Cook, 73, Len Brooks, 72, Cy Sorrells, 73, and Tom Hay, 76.
Closest to the pin on No. 10 went to Larry Kampa at 35 inches. Ed Hammersten had the longest putt on No. 1, and Roger Dorff on No. 17.
Chips-ins were recorded by Bill Frank, Roger Dorff, John Peterson, Bob Savre, Ron Botten, Terry Mikkelson and Bob Muller. Some 67 golfers in 17 teams participated in the team play.[[In-content Ad]]
