$2.7M capital improvement plan receives approval

WALKER-No members of the community appeared to comment at the Tuesday, June 4, Cass County public hearing on the proposed 2019 $2.7 million capital improvement plan and five year forecast.

The county board adopted the plan, which had been presented last month for the board to review.

Now that the board has approved the plan, department heads have authority to spend money allocated for major purchases this year. They still will bring items subject to bidding before the board for final approval.

The plan is available for public viewing on the county website at www.co.cass.mn.us.

Also included in the plan are road improvement projects scheduled for this year and proposed improvements for the five years thereafter.

Scheduled for 2019 are 5.5 miles of County State Aid Highway 17 from CSAH 1 to the county line, 7.5 miles of CSAH 73 from County Road 136 to CSAH 8, 2 miles of CR 136 from CR 136 to Sugar Point Public Water Access, 5.1 miles of CR 157/128 from Highway 200 to four miles north/Boy Lake Public Water Access and a bridge replacement on CR 107 over Home Brook.

Proposed for 2020 are 0.3 miles of Municipal State Aid Highway 204, beginning and ending at Highway 371, 2.8 miles of CSAH 1 from Highway 84 to the county line, 8.6 miles of CSAH 5 from CSAH 11 to the Longville west city limits, bridge replacement on CSAH 8 over the Leech River, 0.5 miles of CSAH14 from CSAH 2 to Highway 371, 5.5 miles of CSAH 46 from CSAH 5 south and .07 miles east to Highway 84 and 2 miles of CR 119 from Linden Lane NW to CSAH 46.

Proposed for 2021 are 4.4 miles of CSAH 42 from Highway 371 going north, 1 mile of CSAH 43 from Highway 84 to the county line, 3.1 miles of CSAH 48 from CR 155 to Highway 6, 5.4 miles of CSAH 54 from 2.4 miles of CSAH 47 to CSAH 7, 3.5 miles of CSAH 55 from CSAH 7 going 3.5 miles south, 1.1 miles of CSAH 79 from Highway 84 to CSAH 43 and 5.4 miles of CR 116 from Highway 87 to the Backus north city limits.

Proposed for 2022 are 2.6 miles of CSAH 22 from Highway 371 to the county line,

5.4 miles of CSAH 32 from CSAH 67 to CSAH 33, 4.2 miles of CSAH 33 from Highway 64 to the county line, 1.8 miles of CSAH 37 from Highway 371 to CSAH 50, 2.9 miles of CSAH 67 along the Wadena county line. 0.5 miles of CSAH 50 from CSAH 37 to CSAH 34 and 3.2 miles of CSAH 72 from CSAH 13 going north.

Proposed for 2023 are 5.2 miles of CSAH 1 from Highway 210 to CSAH 34 and to the county line, 3.5 miles of CSAH 15 from CSAH 1 to CSAH 77, 1.8 miles of CSAH 70 from CSAH 77 to .2 miles southwest of Gull Dam, plus 1.7 miles to CR 105 and 4.5 miles of CR 103 from Highway 64 to 57th Avenue (includes a bridge replacement).

Proposed for 2024 are 2.6 miles of CSAH 4 from Highway 200 to CR 130, 4.5 miles of CSAH 5 from CSAH 46 to CSAH 11, 0.7 miles of CSAH 5 from Longville west city limits to Highway 84, 6 miles of CSAH 26 from CSAH 2 to CSAH 28, 3.1 miles of CSAH 28 from .3 miles west of CSAH 26 to CSAH 1, 4 miles of CSAH 29 from CSAH 1 to CSAH 78, 4.1 miles of CSAH 40 from Highway 371 to 0.2 miles east of Variety Street, 1.8 miles of CSAH 50 from Highway 371 to CSAH 71, 3.7 miles of CSAH 52 from CSAH 4 going north, 6 miles of CR 117 from Highway 371 to CSAH 45 and 1.1 miles of CR 124 from Highway 200 going south..
