Anthony “Tony” Bastle, age 78, of Remer, MN, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at his residence surrounded by family. 

   Tony was born in 1942 to Anthony and Hazel Bastle in Milwaukee, WI and moved to Remer, MN when he was two. After graduating from Remer High School he worked at the pulp mill for a short time before joining the U.S. Air Force for four years, serving in the Vietnam War. 

   Tony met Nancy Scruggs and they married 30 days later on November 19, 1966. They moved to Minnesota, living in Forest Lake until 1975. Tony worked for Western Airlines and Holiday Corporation. He was easy going, never complained, and had a big heart as a genuine people person. Tony loved hunting, fishing, shooting guns, gardening, animals, and harassing people. 

Tony is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; daughters, Robin and Michele.

   He is survived by daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Erickson; grandchildren; Kody Erickson (Nicole Hemsworth) and Leah Erickson (Andrew Klebs); great-grandchildren, Presley Erickson; sisters, Mary (John) Sorum, Sue Bastle; brother, Clarence Bastle; and many nieces and nephews. 

   Visitation will be Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM memorial service at Remer Congregational Church, Remer MN, Rev. Bruce Pound will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, in Remer, MN with full Military Honors.
