12/22/2020 8:52:00 AM Longville Area Community Foundation Virtual Gala: A local success story
Tom Kutscheid with his LACF Outstanding Supporter Award
The Longville Area Community Foundation would like to extend appreciation to the entire Longville Area Community for the generous support of this year's Virtual Gala. The pandemic has forced non-profits nationwide to be creative and find new ways to raise money and have fun while remaining COVID-safe. The Gala occurred live via Zoom the evening of Saturday, December 12 and was an overall fundraising success in addition to being a festive way to celebrate all the Foundation has done in the past year. Viewers were treated to a program of live raffles, videos prepared by student scholars and various grant recipients. Ed Schultz of the Board of Directors acted as the live emcee for the event and Board President Colleen Moravek provided a brief welcome. The virtual program made it possible for individuals who were out of town to enjoy the program as well as those here in the Longville area. In 2020 the Foundation awarded over $40,000 in grants and scholarships to help make Longville a better place to live, work, and play.
The Foundation extends a special recognition to all the corporate sponsors and many supporters who made this event so successful!
The event also included the presentation of two LACF Outstanding Supporter awards. Bill Hansen Sr. was the recipient of one award; Bill has been an ardent supporter of the Foundation since its inception and has given generously of his time, his creative ideas and his resources. The second award went to Tom Kutscheid and was a live, on-camera surprise presentation. Tom gives freely of his time and his many talents to this community over and over and this live activity was the highlight of the evening.
The entire program was recorded and will be available for viewing on the Foundation website. The Longville Area Community Foundation awards grants and scholarships that enhance education, environmental projects, the arts, and health and safety programs.
