1/31/2020 1:46:00 PM Winter Festival/Mid-MN 150 return to Remer
REMER - In conjunction with the 32nd Annual Mid Minnesota Dog Sled Races, with legs between Outing and Remer, the Remer Area Chamber of Commerce and Remer Merchants invite area residents to take part in the Annual Festival of the Falling Snowflakes celebration, on Saturday, Feb. 8th.
If you're interested in learning about dogsledding, meeting some mushers, seeing some incredible athletes, watching the start of a race, and enjoying Minnesota winter, mushers will be on-site by 9 a.m. at the Village Inn in Outing to answer questions, introduce you to their dogs, let you take pictures, etc.
The six-dog recreational class will begin at the Village Inn in Outing at 11:30 a.m. and finish in Remer. The eight-dog pro class will start at the Village Inn following the last six-dog team and will also finish in Remer. The awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the race.
The annual Remer Chili Feed and Cook-off Contest will take place at the Snowmobile Club House. Chili entries should be dropped off between 2 and 2:45 p.m. Chili will begin beginning served at 3 p.m. Diners can vote on their favorite chili, everyone is encouraged to bring a healthy appetite! Warm up at the bonfire near the Soo Line Trail at 2 p.m. and watch the mushers cross the finish line! Along with the bonfire, the Northland Lions will be selling all the fixings for s'mores. Enjoy games, prizes and more.
