"The American Legion" for Annual Sweetheart Days July 8- 14

Hackensack's annual Sweetheart Days festival runs from Monday, July 8 - Sunday, July 14. The festival begins late July 8 at 5 p.m., the Hackensack Lions meat raffle at the Hackensack Muni. From 6-8 p.m., check out Motorcycle Monday's at Birchwood Char House!
Get up early Tuesday for a fun-filled day! Play pickleball from 9-11:30 a.m. and visit Hackensack Lending Library Book Sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. From 10 a.m. 2 p.m., check out Farmer's Market in the park. At 11 a.m., head to the Pier for Hackensack's 23rd Annual Kids Fishing Contest! Also at 11 a.m. is a Horseshoe tournament sponsored by Hackensack American Legion. Also at the park, you can find Kids Games from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. sponsored by Hackensack Legion Auxiliary. Stick around for a Scavenger Hunt!
Food vendors arrive at 4 p.m. and Sweetheart Parade starts at 6 p.m.! Following the parade is the 4th Annual Sweetheart Days Dachshund Derby.
Another early morning starts at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10 for a Flea Market and craft sale at Sacred Heart Church. At 9 a.m., head to the HUB for a Book/Bake/Plant Sale until 3 p.m. Return to town at 7 p.m. for Trivia at Hackensack American Legion.
Another round of Pickleball begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday. At 6 p.m. bring home dinner from the Meat Raffle at Hackensack American Legion. From 5-8 p.m., check out the Tap Takeover by Bemidji Brewery at Birchwood Char House!
Catch a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, July 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Union Congregational Church. At 6 p.m., head to Hackensack American Legion for Horse Racing.
At 7:30 p.m., Josh Duffee, presented by Northwoods Arts Council, will be performing "The First Ladies of Song" at the Hackensack Community Building. Or, visit Birchwood Char House at 8 p.m. for music by the Nissfits.
Activities on Saturday begin at 1 p.m. with a Car and Motorcycle Show and Cornhole Tournament at the City Park until 4 p.m. Also at 1 p.m. is Sweetheart Days Treasure Map until 5 p.m. Immediately following the car shows conclusion, there will be a BBQ sponsored by Hackensack's Fire Department.
At 7:30 p.m., Northwoods Arts Council brings Duffee back to the stage for an encore of "The First Ladies of Song." From 8 p.m.-12 a.m. there will be a street dance featuring music by Wally and the Wailers, sponsored by Hackensack American Legion and Hackensack Muni. Be sure to look towards Birch Lake at dusk for Fabulous Fireworks!
Take a rest Sunday morning and join the Silent Auction from 2-4 p.m. for a silent auction, immediately followed by a fresh chance to win a fresh meat raffle at Hackensack American Legion at 5 p.m.! Also at the Legion will be Raffle Drawings at 5:30 p.m. Head to the deck at Birchwood Char House for music from 6-9 p.m.
All outdoor activities are subject to weather.
