Ray A. Hinsz a Vietnam Veteran, who was injured during combat, will be honored this Fourth of July during the parade by the VFW Post 772. Hinsz will be riding in a WWII vehicle known as a "Willys Jeep.
Hinsz was born February 5, 1950 in Walker to Ben and Dorothy Hinsz of Longville. He then attended school in Longville and Remer where he graduaed in 1968. In the fall of 1969 he went off to college in Bemidji for one semester and decided to enlist in the Army. He served our country from December 4, 1969 to February 2, 1971. On June 1, 1970 he was deployed to Vietnam, where he was injured with being 100% disabled on July 25, 1970.
After returning home Hinsz met and married his wife Shelly on May 28, 1982. They have 3 children, Mark, Chris and Toni, and eight grandchildren.
