Hope Lutheran Church in Walker will celebrate its 100th anniversary June 29 and 30 with fellowship, music, a community picnic and worship.
Saturday's schedule of events includes an alumni choir rehearsal at 10 a.m. at the church, with memorabilia on display.
Hot dogs and tacos in a bag will be served starting at noon in the Walker city park, topped off with root beer floats.
Games for kids - including a bouncy house, music by the Hope Lutheran House Band, popcorn and fellowship will engage guests, all at no charge.
Worship begins at 3 p.m. Saturday in the park.
Additional parking will be available at the US Forestry office and at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
(In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will move to the high school gym.)
Sunday, festive worship services will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran with the Alumni and Joyful Noise Choirs performing. Guests will travel down memory lane with memorabilia and historical information on display.
Fellowship follows both services with past and present members, clergy and guests reminiscing on the church's evolution.
