3/1/2019 4:15:00 PM Eagle boys go 1-2 through trough road stretch
An already busy February schedule got even tougher with some date changes driven by weather cancellations. The Eagles were faced with trips to Blackduck, Onamia, and Wrenshall in a 5 day stretch.
On Thursday the Eagles made the trip up to Blackduck to face a Drake team that has been up and down. The game was close through the first half with the eagles trailing by eight at the break, but as foul troubles mounted, Blackduck pulled away to a 105-64 victory.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Cameron Wake with 17 points seven Rebounds and five assists. Alec Wake followed up with 15 points and Harris Carlson put in 10.
Friday night the Eagles traveled south to Onamia to face a scrappy Panther team lead by Junior Josh Parrow. The Eagles came away with a 20 point win, 81-61, in a game that may have been their best overall performance of the year. Cameron Wake again led the Eagles in scoring with 26 points that included five 3-pointers. Kane Perkins dominated inside with 20 points and 15 rebounds and Alec Wake added 11 points to round out the Eagles in double figures.
Monday saw the boys back on the bus to head east to Wrenshall to face a Wrens team that had won seven of its last eight games. In one of the highest scoring high school games you will see, the Eagles fell 100-88.
Coach Carlson said that "we scored the ball well, but could not find their shooters in transition."
The Eagles were led by Harris Carlson who had six 3-pointers on his way to 26 points. Cameron Wake added 24 points and eight rebounds, Perkins was solid inside with 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Alec Wake contributed 10.
The Eagles face Fon-Du-Lac in another road game to finish out the regular season with their first playoff game March 4th. Time and date are yet to be determined.
