2/5/2019 9:39:00 AM Standing up for Stigma...Let's talk about Mental Health
Have you ever wondered about why some people can handle life stressors with ease, while others struggle to get out of bed every morning, seem sad or are angry all the time? On Sunday, February 10, at 4 p.m., Salem Lutheran Church in Longville will host a Community Forum "Getting to Know your Neighbor; Standing up to Stigma: Let's talk about Mental Health."
Shannon Kempf, MSW, LLCSW and Paula Schroeder, LSW from Birch Lake Counciling in Hackensack, will present information about Mental Health; it's causes, symptoms and treatment. They will address the myths, stigma and misconceptions that are associated with mental health and answer questions to help you better understand how you can be a better neighbor, friend or family member. They will share the warning signs, misconceptions of suicide and things that should be done to help those who are considering this.
Come join us for coffee and a chance to talk to the speakers, investigate local resources or just talk with your neighbor.
