The LongBow Senior Mens’ League had 44 golfers forming 11 teams for play in three flights with Stableford scoring. Results from Aug. 31 play are:

  The first flight first place team, coming in with a 135, included: Jan Pyzik, 37; Dale Hillstrom, 35; Bob Vaughn, 35 and Craig Anderson, 28.

   In the second flight, the first place team, coming in with a  team total of 129, was the team of: Jim Ernst, 41; Paul Casey, 38; Steve Plante, 33 and Mike Haining, 17.

   Coming in first place in the third flight, and a team total of 135, was Dave Fox, 37; Marc Schonwise, 36; Harland Johnson, 31 and Tim Bykowski, 31.

   Jim Ernst walked away with the most Stableford points with 41.

   Low gross of the day went to Jim Zierden with a 75. While low net went to Jim Ernst, with his 87-20=67.

   Cy Sorrells was closest to the pin on No. 12, at 3’ 9”, while Jim Zierden was closest to the pin on No. 17, at 5’ 5”. Craig Severson had the longest putt on No. 7 and Kenny Schleif had the longest putt on No. 11.

  Chip-ins were made by Steve Plante (birdie), Greig Payne (birdie) and Tim Bykowski (double bogey).

   Varner wins Match Play Championship

   Jerry Varner won  the 2021 Longbow Sr. Men’s Match Play Tournament this year. Coming in second was Jim Ernst, while Dale Hillstrom rounded out the top three.

   Olson wins Club Championship

   This year, Mike Olson captured the 2021 Longbow Sr. Men’s League Club Championship with a 36 hole score of 153. Jeff Simmons came in second place with a score of 157, while Neil Mandsager took home third with a score of 161.
