Citizen Petitions, Request:
Received from MPCA 2017 Wastewater Treatment Facility Operational Award. Received award for maintaining outstanding permit compliance at our wastewater treatment facility from Oct 2016 through Sept 2017.
F.D.S.P. bills are scheduled to be mailed on May 21st 2018.
The loan Federal Dam has with the USDA is for the Sewer System. The loan was originated in 2004 and was for $50,000. The current principal balance is $32,253.12.
Isle Harbor/ Bog Road update: The City Council has been advised by the City attorney in a letter dated May 11, 2018, that a strong argument can be made that the City must terminate the maintenance of the Bog Road due to the expenditure of public funds, which should not be used on a private road. This letter is published along with the Isle Harbor Covenants including the maintenance agreement on the City's website: www.federaldam.com
Mike Seivert Isle Harbor/ Bog Road: Mike Seivert read a statement about this issue detailing his viewpoint.
M/S/P Tonga, Starr to approve Building Permit for construction of 28' x 34' garage with storage trusses & bathroom at 74 October Circle.
3 3rd Ave E neglected dog situation: the cost to the City for impounding two dogs and legal fees was $1006.91. This amount cannot be assessed to the property owner.
Citizen complaint form and data request form was received and reviewed. Clerk/ Treasurer will answer questions and provide requested information.
US Army Corps of Engineers complaint form received and reviewed concerning unleashed dog. Clerk/Treasurer will notify the City's Animal Control Officer.
M/S/P Tonga, Gillman for Clerk/Treasurer to send letters concerning unleashed dogs to the following property addresses: 38 First Ave East and 223 Main St.
Discussion on creating a City Impound along with procedures and fee for animals running at large.
Property cleanup needed at 3 3rd Ave E. The Clerk/Treasurer will contact the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe who has possession of the property.
M/S/P Tonga, Gillman for Clerk/Treasurer to purchase Laser printer for $319.00 for the City Office.
The City Maintenance Worker has been requested to grade all City alleys that need attention.
1st Street and Birch Street signs need to be assembled and placed into position.
Discussion on citizen's request to have chloride sprayed on road. Due to the cost, the City Council decided not to participate in the Cass County High Department 2018 Roadway Chloride Program this year.
The next City Council meeting is June 11, 2018 at 5:30p.m.
