6/20/2018 8:20:00 AM Association of Cass County Lakes set to meet
Area residents and cabin owners are invited to join the Association of Cass County Lakes (ACCL) at their Membership Meeting Friday, June 29 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hackenscak HUB.
Board member Vic Rinke will lead lake association members on preparing and implementing a New Infestation Response Plan.
Minnesota's lakes and rivers are not only our most valuable natural resource, but they are also our most threatened. In most cases the DNR confirms the infestation and then the costs and strategy for managing an aquatic invasive species infestation is the responsibility of the local lake association or local government.
Attendees will leave with a draft plan to share with their lake association around a first response to a new AIS infestation: a course of action to significantly reduce lag time between discovery and treatment and the potential cost allowing lake associations to budge for contingency.
After the meeting, join in the fun and meet Conservaiton Officer Hannah Mishler and Storm in the parking lot for a demonstration on the detection of invasive zebra mussels and information on the DNR K9 Program and root beer floats!
