Free drawings for cash, food and other gift certificates will be featured at the Backus Pine Mountaineer Senior Citizen's one-year anniversary of its center re-opening Wed., Oct. 4.
The customer appreciation event runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with Salisbury Steak at $7.50 a plate the featured menu item. A soup and sandwich special will also be available and complimentary cake will be served.
The non-profit Pine Mountaineer Senior Center in downtown Backus, operated by volunteers, re-opened a year ago following a period of being closed after a change in management. The center serves a moderately priced full dinner meal, soup and sandwiches and dessert from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Wednesdays and also offers Carmel and cinnamon rolls for $1 at 8 a.m., also on Wednesdays.
Prizes offered in customer drawings include $50 in cash and a number of food and other gift certificates.
