Join the celebration for Remer's 70th Annual Harvest Festival! This year's theme, Celebrate the Harvest, brings everyone together Friday, August 11 at 5 p.m. at the Fire Hall.
The evening begins with food at the Hall, including beer cart, bake sale and cake walk.
Business of the Year will be announced at 6 p.m. as well as Grand Marshal announcements.
Live music by the Buzzards begins at 7 p.m. until dusk, when fireworks will blast off. For best views, sit in Depot lot and at the Fire Hall.
Saturday morning kicks off with Pancake Breakfast from 8 - 10 a.m. at the Historic Depot.
Adults wanting a pick-me-up from a late night or a kick for the afternoon can visit Walt's Bloody Mary Bar from 8:30-11 a.m. outside the Fire Hall.
Harvest Festival's Kids Parade with Veggie-themed costumes from the Gazebo will line up at 10:30 a.m. and beginning at 11 a.m.
The 70th annual Remer Harvest Festival parade begins at noon. Line up for the Main Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. by the Gazebo, be ready to roll at noon! Watch for direction signs; any changes in lineup location due to construction will be announced.
Winners will be announced after Bingo in the Fire Hall, which begins at 1:30.
Parade prizes will be awarded for the following categories: $50 for Most Theme Oriented Entry, $50 for Most Humorous Entry, $50 for Best Entry by a Business or Organization and $50 for Best Entry by a Family or Individual.
More live music by the Buzzards at the Fire Hall begins at 3 p.m. Visit the Muni at 5 p.m. for raffle drawings! Purchase tickets at local businesses and from the Beer Cart. First prize winner will be awarded $1070; second prize, $570 and third prize, $270.
Throughout the day plenty of activities are scheduled around the Fire Hall. Here you can grab a bite to eat and drink at the various food vendors and the Beer Cart. The Kids Games are back in action and the Flea Market and Crafters will present their creations. Check out the talent and gifts, there is something for everyone.
The 70th Remer Harvest Festival offers Lakeland area residents and visitors an enjoyable weekend of family activities next Friday and Saturday in Remer.
