"Wildlife in Hack" for Annual Sweetheart Days July 5 - 11
Hackensack's annual Sweetheart Days festival runs from Thursday, July 5 - Wednesday, July 11. The festival begins late July 5 at 6 p.m. with a meat raffle at Hackensack American Legion.

Friday brings Josh Duffee presented by Northwoods Arts Council. Duffee will be performing "The Kings of Swing Play Carnegie Hall" at the Hackensack Community Building beginning at 7:30 p.m. Or, visit Birchwood Char House at 8 p.m. for music by Whatz Next.

Anyone living near bear habitat is reminded to be aware of bears this summer and check their property for food sources that could attract bears.

Pet food, livestock feed, bird seed, compost or garbage can attract bears. Attracting bears to yards can lead to property damage and presents dangers to bears.
