The communities of Longville, Hackensack, Remer and Walker invite everyone to celebrate the change of seasons in their joint celebration, "Fall Has It All". If you're just getting to town for the first time this month, coming back for another weekend Up North, or live here year-round, Fall Has It All isn't an event to miss!

Class Sizes top Discussion at Northland Board Meeting
During the regular school board meeting held Thursday Principal Clayton Lindner discussed how the beginning of school went with both staff and students being excited to start back in a new building. He stated that there will need to be some adjustments made, but overall things went great.

Hackensack's 13th Annual Chainsaw Event
As a part of Lakeland's annual Fall Has It All festival, Hackensack's 13th annual Chainsaw Competition begins at 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 22 with artisan booths and food vendors while sculpting begins. This event features 12 skilled carvers over three days. At 10:30 a.m. is All American Lumber Jack show.

Calling all Blues and Bluegrass fans! Bigfoot Music Festival stomps into town
Bigfoot believers, blues and bluegrass fans should head to Remer Saturday, September 16th for the Bigfoot Music Festival! Only $25 for two days of fun and various camping or lodging options available, there are few reasons not to join!

Kids can come for the fun as well! Saturday morning from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Remer Library will be a free "Fiddle Fun" performance with Longtine and Kimmel.

Northland Board moves school start date to Sept. 11
During a special school board meeting held Thurs., Aug. 31 the board voted 5-1,with Marc Ruyak absent, to delay the start of school by a week. The new start date for all students K-12 will be Mon., Sept. 11.

Arts Off 84 art crawl set for Labor Day weekend
The tenth annual Arts Off 84 Art Crawl is set for September 2 - 3 during Labor Day weekend.

Seven locations along scenic MN Highway 84 between Pine River and Longville will feature 85 artists showing and selling their works of art. Show hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday.
