Hackensack's annual Sweetheart Days festival runs from Thursday, July 5 - Wednesday, July 11. The festival begins late July 5 at 6 p.m. with a meat raffle at Hackensack American Legion.
Friday brings Josh Duffee presented by Northwoods Arts Council. Duffee will be performing "The Kings of Swing Play Carnegie Hall" at the Hackensack Community Building beginning at 7:30 p.m. Or, visit Birchwood Char House at 8 p.m. for music by Whatz Next.
Activities on Saturday begin at 1 p.m. with a Car and Motorcycle Show at the Birchwood Char House until 4 p.m. Immediately following the car show's conclusion, there will be a BBQ sponsored by Hackensack's Fire Department.
At 7:30 p.m., Northwoods Arts Council brings Duffee back to the stage for an encore of "The Kings of Swing." From 8 p.m.-12 a.m. there will be music by Whatz Next at Hackensack American Legion.
Take a rest Sunday morning and join the Cornhole Tournament starting at 2 p.m. and visit Hackensack American Legion from 2-5 p.m. for a silent auction, immediately followed by a fresh chance to win a fresh meat raffle!
Monday at 5 p.m. will be another chance to attend a meat raffle at the Hackensack Muni sponsored by Hackensack Lions.
Tuesday, July 10 will be packed full of fun and games for everyone in the family! From 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. visit Hackensack's Lending Library for a book sale. The Hackensack Chamber will be hosting a bake sale at the same time!
Beginning at 10 a.m. in the Park there will be a Farmer's Market. The weekly Kid's fishing contests will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at City Dock, by Lucette.
While kids fish and play, others are invited to participate in Horseshoe Tournaments sponsored by Hackensack American Legion at 11 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., kids may start playing games in the park until 2:30 p.m., sponsored by Hackensack Legion Auxiliary. As games wind down for a few hours, a scavenger hunt begins!
Beginning at 4 p.m., next to the park, vendors will be lined up and ready to sell delicious food. In addition, Lighthouse Church provides more time for kid's games in the park and an open house at the Hackensack HUB.
Parade participants begin lining up at 4:30 p.m. with Sweetheart Parade rolling out at 6 p.m. Following Sweetheart parade is the 3rd Annual Dachshund Races at 7 p.m., as well as raffle drawings. The final Four Cornhole Tournament begins at 7:30 p.m. Activities conclude at dusk with fabulous fireworks.
Early Wednesday, Hackensack's weekly flea market begins at 8 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. is a Book, Bake and Plant Sale at the Hackensack HUB.
Take a dinner break and head to Birchwood Char House from 6-8 p.m. for Tap Beer Takeover by Fair State Brewery to end your Sweetheart Days.
